Reflection

MIRRORING is a communication practice.

Why are we struggling with our thoughts, decisions, clarity, impact on others and ability to communicate?

Without healthy, structured, mindful practices in place, serious problems deepen for us in life and at work.

By focusing on good sending and good receiving, mirroring practice makes everything better.

"Whenever I feel I am losing the ability to communicate with someone, I remember to use the mirroring techniques I learned from Michael. He is a true healer."
Lori S., coaching client & business owner

There are many ways which I teach mirroring, but the bottom line is this: whenever we engage in MIRRORING PRACTICE, the energy of the participants and the observers will move up the emotional scale.

In a coaching session, a client may say something that lands on me as a deep truth about their lives. "I've always wanted to write a book...", for example.

I'll stop and ask the client, ""Hey, let's stay on that and practice mirroring..." . Then I may feed them their own words back to them to mirror out loud back to  me.

The effect of this simple collaborative act is astonishing.

Because we are focusing on something deep and true for the client, and because there is no judgment happening, and because we are returning their own words again, a presence of relief and  harmony occurs between us, allowing difficult emotions to be released and well-being to be restored in our minds and bodies.

“After a mirroring coaching call with Michael, I feel like I’ve taken an elevator to the sky. I’m soaring!”
- Chanie T., Parenting expert

Mirroring is something that happens automatically in nature. If you look at the photo of the two suns, one is the actual star in the sky, the other is its reflection being mirrored by the lake below.

The sun can't help but send its light and power. The lake can't help but receive this light and power and reflect it back perfectly yet in its own way. This is mirroring..

Likewise, through MIRRORING PRACTICE, we are trying to achieve this natural effect, only through focused communication.

We learn good sending, to be clear and focused in what we share, to become aware of how what we say is going to land on our partner.

We also learn good receiving, where we demonstrate to our partners that their words are being heard, without any reactivity.

As in martial arts, we must practice. By practicing good sending, we feel deeply connected and empowered. By practicing good receiving, we stretch and grow as our partners sense deeply that they are important to us. With practice, unwanted dynamics improve and dissolve.

"Michael's professional development training was wonderful. So helpful in providing a harmonious working community."

MIRRORING PRACTICE is powerful and transformative in a personal coaching setting or in a private workshop.

At the same time, the principles and practices will make a significant impact on leaders and staff inside professional companies and organizations.

There is so so much going on in all our communication interactions. It can be hard to manage when dynamics in a work environment lead to ongoing stress, bickering, negativity, distrust, overwhelm and more.

To be a good leader, you've got to master the skills of communication. That doesn't just mean you know how to write (and hide behind) an important memo.

Instead , it means is you know how to maximize your impact on your staff and your clients, and you can create an empathic connection with the person in front of you.

The skills of sending, receiving, validation, reflection and ongoing practice will yield powerful change within the work environment. Working hard is one thing. Working without chronic stress is another.

Introducing mirroring at work brings the best out of your staff and clients and puts wellbeing back to work for you.

"Michael gives us the space to be our true selves."
- Rebekah P., Coaching client and workshop attendee

As a coach focused on personal healing and professional development, I realize that entering a journey of focused collaboration can be big, especially if you've been to someone before and you left wanting more.

MIRRORING PRACTICE is unique because of its simple and reliable structure, its emphasis on collaboration, the meditative focus applied to communication, and in the immediacy of uplifting shifts in energy.

The results you are looking for begin with your energy. In this way, we can cross a bridge and take a risk to heal our energy first, and allow the answers and insights to come through our mirroring practice.

In a coaching session, I often say, "Hey, let's stop and do some mirroring."  And this always leads to good things...
